Göran Hajak is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Regensburg, Germany and Director of the Department of Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy at the Social Foundation Bamberg, teaching hospital of the University of Erlangen, Germany.

Dr. Hajak is Medical Board certified for Neurology, Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, Sleep Medicine, and Traffic Medicine, and holds an Master of Business Administration degree in Health Management.

His widespread interests include research in the areas of effective, emotional, psychotic, somatoform, and sleep disorders, the mechanisms of neuroplasticity and brain networking, psychopharmacology, and health management.

His work has qualified him to be named in the Who-is-Who-List of Medicine Germany and the Focus TOP-100-List of Medical Doctors in Germany as a distinguished physician for the treatment of Depression, Bipolar Disorders, Schizophrenia and Anxiety Disorders.

Dr Hajak has authored or co-authored 386 peer-reviewed original papers and 210 review articles with an accumulated impact factor of 1130, 131 book chapters, 22 books, and more than 800 abstracts (January 2019).
